Former basketball point guard Gilbert Arenas was arrested for running illegal poker games at his Encino mansion. The Justice Department announced the news on July 30. Along with Arenas, five others were arrested for helping run illegal poker games at his home.
According to the statement given by the Justice Department, he is charged with:
"One count of conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, one count of operating an illegal gambling business, and one count of making false statements to federal investigators."
Amid his arrest, Arenas's ex-girlfriend, Laura Govan, posted an Instagram story, where she can be seen holding a brush and painting, with the caption:
"Needed to clear my head …"
It is unclear if the story was directed at Arenas or related to his arrest.
