Ike Turner and Tina Turner’s son, Ike Turner Jr., has died at the age of 67 due to kidney failure at a Los Angeles hospital on October 5, 2025.

Tina’s niece, Jacquline Bullock, confirmed the news in a statement shared with the New York Post. In her statement, she wrote:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner, Jr. Junior’ was more than a cousin to me, but rather a brother, as we grew up in the same famed household together. As the son of Tina and Ike Turner, from an early age, his talents were evident as there wasn’t an instrument he did not want to play.”

Ike Turner had 6 children: Turner Jr., Michael Turner, Ronnie Turner, Craig Raymond Turner, Mia Turner, and Twanna Melby.

Turner Jr. was born to Turner Sr. and his ex, Lorraine Taylor, in 1958. The musician later married Tina Turner in 1962, who adopted Turner Jr. Tina died in May 2023 at the age of 83 after battling a long illness.

All about Ike Turner’s kids

As mentioned before, Ike Turner, who passed away in 2007, had a total of six children, of which two were his biological children. He shared Turner Jr. and Michael Turner with his first wife, Lorraine Taylor.

Turner Jr. was born to his parents in 1958. He was later adopted by Tina Turner.

He followed his musician parents’ footsteps, working as a sound engineer and performer. He also won a Grammy Award in 2007 as a producer on his father’s blues album Risin’ With the Blues.

Tina Turner’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, recalled his love for music in her statement on his death:

“As the son of Tina and Ike Turner, from an early age, his talents were evident as there wasn’t an instrument he did not want to play. While he favored the drums early on, my aunt and his mother, Tina Turner, insisted that he break down his drum kit after each practice. This led him to favor the keys. Eventually, Junior would end up helping to run Bolic Sound Studios, the recording studios founded by his father, Ike Turner.”

In recent years, Turner Jr.'s health started to deteriorate as he faced heart problems. He also suffered a stroke in September 2025.

Michael Turner

He was born in 1959. Tina Turner adopted both Ike and Michael when they were young. She continued to raise them even past her divorce in 1978.

Craig Raymond Turner

Turner Sr. adopted Craig Raymond Turner after his marriage to Tina Turner in 1962. Craig was born to Tina in August 1958, when she was in a relationship with saxophonist Raymond Hill. He was the eldest among Tina and Ike’s children.

Ronnie Turner

Ronnie was the third biological son of Ike Turner after Ike Jr. and Michael. He was born to Tina and Ike in 1960. He passed away in December 2022 due to complications from colon cancer.

Mia Turner

Mia Turner was Turner Sr.’s daughter with Margaret Ann Thomas, a former Ikette. They were married from 1981 to 1990. Thomas became pregnant with Mia when Ike was still married to Tina. Mia spent her childhood living with her grandma in Bakersfield, California, where she attended school, dance, and piano lessons. During the weekend, she would stay with her father’s family.

Twanna Turner Melby

Twana Melby was born to Ike Turner and Pat Richard. The couple dated each other while attending St. Louis High School.
