Aspiring actress Isabelle Tate died from a progressive neuromuscular disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, on October 19, 2025, according to The Tennessean. She was 23.

Her parents, Katerina Kazakos Tate and John Daniel Tate, announced her death via a statement posted online. It reads:

"Isabelle ‘Izzy’ Tate had a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. She passed away peacefully on the 19th of October."

The family has requested privacy during their difficult time.

Isabelle’s mother, Katerina Kazakos Tate, is a real estate advisor and agent. She praised her daughter’s “incredible strength” on her birthday in August 2024, via an Instagram post.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful girl! Your passion, your spirited personality, your light, and your incredible strength are an inspiration to all. Keep on shining!” the caption read with a series of photos of Isabelle from over the years.

The actress, best known for appearing on the ABC show 9-1-1 Nashville, is survived by her parents, stepfather Vishnu Jayamohan, and sister Daniella Tate.

According to her official website, Katerina Kazakos Tate is a real estate professional, advisor, investor, and lifestylist. She guides people in Nashville to buy, sell, renovate, relocate, invest, or build properties.

Isabelle Tate’s mother has been a realtor for over two decades and is affiliated with Tennessee-based Benchmark Realty, LLC. She has had 51 closed sales in the last five years.

“Katerina’s passion is guiding people as they navigate the real estate market. She consults with clients, from first-time buyers to large investors, to develop smart real estate strategies,” the website description reads.

According to Homes.com, Katerina Kazakos Tate was born and raised in New York City before she moved to Greece at the age of ten. Later, she returned to the USA for college and pursued a BBA degree in international marketing from Pace University, New York.

After her graduation, she traveled across Mexico for a few months to learn Spanish and the Latin culture. Katerina also obtained a master’s degree in education from Lipscomb University, Nashville, where she later settled.

Throughout her career in marketing, sales, and real estate, Isabelle Tate’s mom has worked for companies like Walt Disney and Budget. She was also the director of marketing for seven hotels in Israel.

For the last 16 years, she has mostly worked in residential real estate, interior design, and architecture. Additionally, Ms Tate offers corporate training and consultancy services on diversity, communication, and navigating workplace challenges. Her Instagram bio reads:

“Every home has a story… I’m here to passionately guide you to your real estate goals.”

She was previously married to John Daniel Tate and shared two daughters with him, Isabelle and Daniella. Katerina is now married to Vishnu Jayamohan and spends her leisure time with her family, horses, and a German Shepherd. She is fluent in English, Greek, and Spanish.


About Isabelle Tate

Isabelle Tate was born on August 8, 2002, in Nashville, Tennessee, and later grew up in the Franklin community. Her middle name was Adora, according to an obituary posted on the website of Austin Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC.

“Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others. She was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few,” the obituary reads.
It adds, “What she loved the most, though, was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend, and her mom was her shining beacon of light.”

She recently made her TV debut on the first episode of the ABC series 9-1-1 Nashville, which premiered on October 6 and was filmed in June. Isabelle Tate appeared as a wheelchair bound woman who was made fun of inside a bar.

The Middle Tennessee State University business graduate shared about her medical condition in December 2022 on her @izzy.tate Instagram account. She mentioned being diagnosed with a “progressive neuromuscular disease” at 13, which weakened her leg muscles over the years.

While the up-and-coming actress didn’t disclose the name of the condition, upon her death, her family revealed it as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Isabelle Tate’s memorial services are scheduled for October 24, 2025.
