Jelani Maraj is Nicki Minaj's brother. Minaj took to X on October 1, 2025, to defend her brother after Tasha K said that Jelani Maraj's child rape case took the whole family down. In a tweet, Tasha said,

"Don’t make me reopen Nicki’s brothers case! #PureExtortion‼️‼️‼️ | From the mammy of that child‼️ I’ve covered countless cases on actual victims! And I was a victim myself as a child! | I know a coached victim when I see one"

She also added,

"But when kids are involved and coerced, a jury will believe anything! As I said witch craft was done in the D.R. And NickiMinaj’s whole family went TF DOWNNNN‼️‼️‼️That’s her brother and she gone ride for him! As she TF Should!!!!"

Nicki Minaj, while responding to the tweet and defending her brother, said,

"They don’t want you to know they told me they’d make the case go away for 20MM. They checked his home & found nothing. They found out who he was, then came back & said they found something. To GOD BE THE GLORY. WHAT IS DONE IN THE DARK…..THATS WHY SHE & THEY ARE NOW CURSED"

Nicki Minaj's brother, Jelani Maraj, was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in Long Island. Maraj was arrested in December 2024 in Baldwin, where he lived with his wife, Jacqueline Robinson.

Maraj was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child. He was released on a $100,000 bail. He was originally charged with the crimes in 2015 and found guilty at Nassau County court in New York in November 2017.

In August 2015, Maraj got married to Jacqueline Robinson at Coral Houses in Baldwin, New York, and as per TMZ, Minaj paid over $30,000 for her brother's wedding. Minaj, while congratulating her brother, took to Instagram and said,

"Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk...May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile."

Maraj was mentioned in Minaj's abortion confession song, All Things Go, where she said,
