Bodhi Elfman, Jenna Elfman’s husband, is an actor and producer.

He was born in Los Angeles on July 19, 1969. His career includes roles in Mercury Rising and Enemy of the State, both released in 1998, and later Collateral. He and Jenna got married in February 1995 and are parents to two children.

In an exclusive interview with WUSA9 in 2016, the couple got candid about their long romantic partnership. Jenna Elfman said at the time,

“I have, like, a little checklist that I think are the most relative items that have kept us together for 26 years.”

Bodhi jumped in to say:

“Humor must fall in there somewhere.”

She doubled down on that reply, saying,

“Humor is number one, because we crack each other up, because if you take any of that too seriously, it will hurt.” shared Jenna.

Jenna Elfman also gave a practical piece of advice.

“Don’t get divorced in the first year - first three years, you’re just tired,” she explained.

Back in 2018, People Magazine’s Chatter series featured Jenna Elfman speaking frankly about her ties to Scientology. She had been part of the church for nearly three decades at that point and described how it helped her navigate both marriage and motherhood.

“Well, I’ve been a Scientologist for 28 years and that’s a huge part of what helps us keep our communication going and our relationship,” she said, referring to her husband, Bodhi Elfman. Elfman stressed that their bond had endured.
“We’ve never cheated on each other, we’ve never broken up. We hang in there, raising children, maintaining my sanity in a crazy world. Our world is crazy, it’s getting crazier, and Hollywood is the ne plus ultra of crazy,” she shared.

She summed up her personal experience in the end:

“It’s been so workable for me.”

By 2021, the Elfmans had left Los Angeles behind. Jenna’s Fear the Walking Dead role took the family to Austin, where homeschooling became their new normal. Speaking to Yahoo! Life, she reflected on the unexpected journey. Her boys were 11 and 14 at the time, and she admitted the shift had reshaped her outlook on parenting.

“I’ve been homeschooling them since 2020, and it’s been a new sort of chapter as a parent … it’s not just, like, helping them with homework; this is like a whole new entry into getting to know your children,” she explained.

Jenna Elfman explained that teaching her kids revealed an entirely different side of them. She already knew them as sons, but now she was learning who they were as students, each with their own quirks, methods, and sparks of curiosity.

“When you see them look at you and they’ve got what they just learned and their eyes light up, it’s the most fulfilling thing,” she shared.

It wasn’t easy, but for her, it had been transformative:

“I’m sort of doing that in a very 360 [degree] way, both as a parent and a teacher, and it’s been really cool.”

Even with her focus on family, homeschooling, and personal growth, Jenna Elfman hasn’t stepped away from acting entirely. She recently made her return to ABC with a recurring role on Shifting Gears, starring alongside Tim Allen.
