The Sun reported that he died due to natural causes at his Beverly Hills home. A spokesperson informed the outlet that he celebrated his birthday five days before his demise.
His IMDb profile stated that his first marriage was to Alyce Loretta Hawkins. They were married for 10 years, from 1959 to 1969. His second marriage was to Alice Agnes Marshall in 2001, which lasted until his death in July 2025. He has two children – a daughter, Quianna Vonyea Stokes, and a son named Kenneth William Washington Jr.
Variety reported that Alice was a former editor-in-chief at Wave Newspapers in South Los Angeles. She also worked as a film review editor at Variety. Kenneth Washington is survived by his wife, three children, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Washington was born on October 19, 1946, in Ethel, Mississippi. He was raised in the Bay Area in Redwood City and San Francisco. Later, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. He attended Loyola Marymount University and went on to become an instructor. He taught a course that focused on black actors in the film industry.
Washington was best known for his role as Sergeant Baker in the CBS series Hogan’s Heroes, which he landed in 1970. The sitcom was set in a Nazi Germany POW camp during World War II. It was centred around a group of Allied prisoners who secretly used the camp as a base for espionage, sabotage, and resistance missions against the Nazis.
The show ran for 168 episodes across six seasons from 1965 till 1971. Kenneth Washington featured along with other high-profile actors including Bob Crane, Larry Hovis, and Richard Dawson.
