On Tuesday, August 19, reality TV star and YouTuber JaNa Craig was seen getting cozy with rapper Key Glock in New York City. TMZ shared a one-minute video of the pair asking them whether they were dating.

While Glock appeared to be shy and turned away from the camera, former Love Island (US) cast member Craig smiled and denied the speculation as they walked toward a black SUV, while holding hands.

Key Glock, whose real name is Markeyvius Lashun Cathey, is a 28-year-old rapper, songwriter, and record producer from Memphis, Tennessee. He is the cousin of the late Memphis rapper Young Dolph.

Glock has dated Karin Jinsui in the past, who accused him of physical assault, which he denies. Meanwhile, JaNa Craig has previously been in a relationship with her fellow Love Island contestant, Kenny Rodriguez, from mid-2024 to July 2025.

Exploring the life and career of Key Glock in the wake of the Jana Craig dating rumor

Key Glock was born in South Memphis on August 3, 1997. While his mother was incarcerated, his father was absent. The rapper was raised by his aunt and grandmother. When Cathey was 18, he faced jail time after being charged with three counts of aggravated assault concerning a shooting.

During this time, music helped him heal and find his path in life. Later, when he was released, he recorded a freestyle version of DJ Drama’s 2011 song, Ain’t No Way Around It.

In 2016, Key Glock dropped his debut mixtape Whole Lotta Errthang, and the following year, he signed with Young Dolph’s label, Paper Route Empire. Since then, he collaborated with Dolph and released the collab album, Dum and Dummer, in 2017, which reached number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was followed by a sequel in 2021, comprising the hit number Aspen.

Cathey also appeared on Dolph’s hit single, Major, and went on to tour with him across Europe and the USA. During this time, he also worked with UK rapper Blade Brown and American rapper Jay Fizzle for his song, Racks Today.

Some of his notable works include the 2017 mixtape Glock Season, debut album Yellow Tape in 2020, which peaked at number 14 on Billboard 200, and the mixtape Son of a Gun that same year.

Meanwhile, Key Glock also released his second album, Yellow Tape 2, in November 2021. That same month, Young Dolph was murdered, and Cathey paid him tribute in his January 2022 song Proud, which was part of the compilation Long Live Young Dolph.

The year 2023 saw the rapper release his third album, Glockoma 2. Upon its release, Key Glock appeared on the Big Facts podcast and stated:

“I try my best not to be like the next person. Whatever you do, no matter what room you are in, no matter who is in the room, just be yourself. Don’t try to adapt to the n***as. Be you.”

In May 2025, he dropped his fourth and recent album Glockaveli under the Republic Records label.

Throughout his career, Key Glock, who is nicknamed Glizock, G-Lock, and Glock, mentioned that Three 6 Mafia has been his greatest influence apart from Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, and Project Pat. The Let’s Go hitmaker primarily makes music in Southern hip-hop, indie, and trap genres.

Key Glock has been accused of abuse in the past

According to Vibe, in August 2023, Cathey posted on X,

“Sending this fake godly a** b*tch back to da streets.”

In a follow-up post, Glock wrote,

“She might look good on IG but I SWEAR dat bi**h AIN'T NONE!!” adding that he didn’t respect anybody who played “police games.”

In response, his then-girlfriend Karin Jinsui took to her Instagram Stories and accused him of laying his hands on her.

"All that boy has to offer is money & d**k literally... I can find that sh*t a million other places. I'm a grown righteous woman & I require more than that... that he can't offer... He's the real one that ain't sh*t… & he knows it...” Jinsui wrote.

She continued,

“He tries to ACT like he so 'Playa' to the public, but really he's a hurt a** little boy... that desperately needs help. He put his hands on me Monday because he don't know how to have grown-up conversations... & I STILL ain't call the cops or inform the hotel... I just left.”

Karin added that Key Glock reportedly begged her to stay with him for four years, and she did her best to understand him. However, he wasn’t “ready to be a man” and was “not a good person.” She claimed Cathey was more concerned about his “rapper image” rather than his “personal affairs,” and denied cheating on him. She also mentioned being “embarrassed” that she ever dated him.

The Ambition for Cash rapper replied with a post that read:

"Aite now chill out. She got y'all thinking I'm Ike Turner or some sh*t lmao."

He had seemingly referred to Ike Turner, the late former husband of Tina Turner, who was accused of domestic violence, per Complex.
