All we need to know about Nick Reiner’s new attorney Kimberly Greene
On January 7, Kimberly Greene was assigned to represent Nick Reiner, the son of the late Rob and Michele Reiner, after his previous attorney, Alan Jackson, withdrew from his case.
She has worked exclusively with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office for approximately 18–19 years. Kimberly Greene also served as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Law School, teaching Trial Advocacy.
Her LinkedIn states that she is a University of Miami student, from where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Political Science.
Kimberly Greene prefers to keep a low profile when it comes to her personal life. There are no reports which confirm her marital status or children.

After withdrawing as Nick Reiner’s attorney during a court hearing, Alan Jackson held a brief press conference outside the Los Angeles courthouse. He emphasized his belief in Reiner’s innocence and said:
“..what we've learned, and you can take this to the bank, is that pursuant to the laws of this state, pursuant to the law of California, Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder. Print that."
He added that the circumstances under which he had to withdraw from the case were beyond Nick Reiner’s control. Nick was diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder several years ago. Reports indicated that his medication was adjusted or changed before the December 2025 killings of his parents.
According to TMZ, Reiner’s medical issues could lead to a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity under California law.
Rob (78) and Michele (70) were reportedly found stabbed to death in the master bedroom of their Los Angeles home last year in December. Their daughter, Romy Reiner, discovered the bodies after going to check on them.
Later that same evening, their son Nick Reiner was arrested near Exposition Park. He has been held without bail on charges of two counts of first-degree murder. The charges make him eligible for life without parole or potentially the death penalty.
Nick Reiner has a documented history of severe substance abuse issues dating back to adolescence. He remains in custody without bail. Due to a change in his council the arraignment has reportedly been postponed to February 23. It was originally scheduled for January 7.
