Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto is facing serious allegations of s*xual misconduct from at least nine women, including a model named Laura La Rue.
According to a report in People magazine, it is alleged that Leto had misbehaved with several underage girls. Among the allegations featured in the report, Laura La Rue, who was 16 years old in 2008, recalled meeting the actor, who was 36 at the time, at an animal rights benefit that year.
She mentioned that after they connected through email, Leto invited her to his studio in April 2009, where he allegedly flirted with her. She also denied applying to work for the actor and alleged that on one occasion, Leto walked out of the room nude, “like it was normal” when she was 17. Rue said that she thought it was “what adult men do.”
According to the New York Post, Laura La Rue is a 32-year-old retired model from Los Angeles, California. She lives with her baby daughter, Lasca, in a renovated school bus, where they grow their own produce and try to live off the land as much as possible. She also works as a tie-dye artist. She launched her brand, Ride or Dye Ojai, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
All you need to know about Laura La Rue
According to her interview with The Los Angeles Times, Laura La Rue had a happy childhood. She grew up in Thousand Oaks, California. She told the outlet that she was fortunate enough to attend private schools. She said:
“My mom was always a horse lady, interested in ranching, while my dad was passionate about camping and bird watching. So I grew up with a deep love for nature.”
She started modelling at the age of 13 with Elite Models. At 16, she left high school after passing the California High School Proficiency Examination to pursue modelling full-time. She became a full-time model featured in editorial campaigns shot by photographer David LaChapelle and walked the runway for designers such as Jeremy Scott.
Later, La Rue decided to move to Los Angeles, where she resided in Los Feliz from 2009 to 2015. It was during this time that she partied with big-name celebrities like Seth MacFarlane, Jared Leto, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
After eight years, she opted to return to her home to live with her mom, as she told the Times that the modelling life took a toll on her mental health. She said:
"I thought, ‘I don’t like this at all.’ I could feel my cortisol levels shoot through the roof. I had health issues brought on by stress. I had been on a ridiculous model diet, and I wanted to turn myself around. I started going to therapy and spent time alone to work on myself.”
Laura La Rue lived in a cabin on her mother’s ranch before relocating to a property in Ojai. At that time, she met someone, and they moved to live off-grid in a 1981 Silver Streak for four years.
She is currently involved in her business, Ride or Dye Ojai, and has set up the station on her property. She credits her parents for supporting her in following her non-traditional path.
