Christopher Nolan was elected as the new president of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) on September 20, 2025, succeeding Lesli Linka Glatter.
Nolan ran unopposed and was chosen by 167 delegates during the union’s Biennial National Convention, according to the reports. He will now take over from Glatter, who has been on the Guild’s National Board since 2003. She was elected as the president of the DGA in 2021.

In 2023, she was re-elected to a second term at the Guild's Biennial National Convention held at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles. During her presidency, she led the team of 19,500 members, which included directors, associate and assistant directors, stage managers, and unit production managers.
Lesli Linka Glatter is a renowned director and producer of film and television. Her work credits include Homeland, The Morning Show, Gimore Girls, and The Walking Dead, among others.

She began her career as a director through the American Film Institute's Directing Workshop for Women. In 1985, she directed a short film, Tales of Meeting and Parting, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
Lesli Linka Glatter has been nominated for eight DGA Awards and has won three times. Her wins include awards for directing the HBO series Homeland and Mad Men. She made State of Emergency in 1994, and Now and Then in 1995. It was followed by several other films, including The Proposition in 1998.

In February 2025, Deadline reported that Lesli Linka Glatter has joined Apple TV’s new series, Imperfect Women, as its director and Executive Producer. The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Jackson Kelly, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara, among other actors.
