Malcolm-Jamal Warner died on July 20 at the age of 54 on account of accidental drowning in Costa Rica. He was on vacation with his family when tragedy struck.

According to ABC News, people on the beach attempted to help Warner after noticing that he was in trouble. However, despite their efforts and the prompt arrival of first responders, they were unable to help him in time.

Warner was married and also had a daughter. However, he kept his personal life away from the spotlight, choosing not to reveal their names or share details publicly. Before his marriage, Warner was known to have dated fellow actors Karen Malina White, Michelle Thomas, and Regina King over the years.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner's past relationships

Malcolm-Jamal Warner met Michelle Thomas on the set of The Cosby Show. In the sitcom, Michelle played Justine Phillips, the girlfriend of Theodore Huxtable. While it’s not exactly known when they started dating in real life, the two were in a long-term relationship. They were together until Michelle’s passing in 1998, reportedly due to stomach cancer.

A couple of years after Thomas's death, Malcolm dated American film actress Karen Malina White. Malcolm and Karen also met on The Cosby Show. The two reportedly started dating in 2000 and were a couple for seven years.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner later dated Regina King, whom he first met on the sets of The Cosby Show. Although their paths crossed early on, they didn’t begin dating until around 2011. The two were together for a while before deciding to part ways in 2013.

While the exact date of Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s marriage to his current wife is not publicly known, multiple outlets have reported that the two tied the knot sometime around 2016 or 2017.

As per Marca, Malcolm and his wife reportedly met a couple of years after his split from Regina King. She is believed to have worked as an attorney in Connecticut at the time.
