All we know about Mickey Rourke’s first wife and their relationship

Mickey Rourke and his first wife Debra Feuer shared a passionate relationship that eventually resulted in their divorce.

The couple met on the set of the TV movie Hardcase and married in 1981 after dating for about a year. They co-starred together in the 1988 film Homeboy. In the film Rourke plays Johnny Walker, a self-destructive boxer with brain damage who drifts into a seaside resort life. Feuer portrayed the role of Ruby, the owner of a rundown carnival whom Johnny falls in love with.

Mickey Rourke and Debra Feuer were happily married until their divorce in 1989. His intense s*x scenes with Kim Basinger contributed towards a strained relationship with his wife. He later admitted in one of his interviews that it “was not particularly considerate to my wife's needs.” Feuer described her husband as “jealous and controlling” which “used to suffocate her.”

Revealing in an interview, she said that he “would threaten other actors if he thought they were paying me too much attention..” She recalled that Rourke once threatened her co-actor Willem Dafoe who starred with her in To Live and Die in LA.

In an interview with The Guardian, Rourke said:

“I married as a young man to Debra [Feuer]. She was a dancer, and I married the first good-looking girl I thought I'd ever have a chance with. I made it clear that I didn't want to marry an actress, so as soon as her manager started pushing her that way, I was out of the door.”

Despite their split, they continue to remain good friends. Feuer later married cameraman Scott Fuller. They are parents to a 27-year-old daughter named Jessica Ruby. Feuer has stepped away from the limelight and currently works as a yoga teacher.

Mickey Rourke was married twice. After his divorce from Feuer, he married Carré Otis in 1992. Otis was a supermodel. She was best known for her work in the late 1980s and 1990s. Her acting debut came in the controversial 1989 erotic drama Wild Orchid, which starred Rourke. They were married for six years until they went their separate ways.

Rourke has no children from his marriages to Feuer and Otis. Amid his financial struggles, Rourke continues to work independently. Earlier in 2025, he appeared in the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother.
