American actor Mike Heslin, best known for his roles in Lioness and The Holiday Proposal Plan, died of a heart attack on July 2, 2024, after a weeklong battle in the hospital. He suffered a cardiac episode while celebrating his birthday trip at a Las Vegas restaurant. He was 35.
More than a year later, Heslin’s husband, Scotty Dynamo, has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Javier’s at the Aria Hotel, claiming the restaurant's staffers failed to provide emergency care.
He also accused them of allegedly stopping a patron from performing CPR, and allowing an “avoidable tragedy” to happen, according to the court documents obtained by Daily Mail. Dynamo is a French-Canadian actor, DJ, and YouTuber, according to IMDb.
The civil suit was filed on September 18 and claimed that Mike Heslin “exhibited obvious signs of a medical emergency,” but the staffers purportedly did not do anything to help and even “forcefully interfered” with another guest who tried to resuscitate the late actor.
Besides Scotty Dynamo, Mike Heslin’s friends also claimed in the filing that the restaurant had an automated external defibrillator (AED) on its property, but failed to provide that during the medical emergency. Additionally, the plaintiffs have alleged that they were “forcibly removed” from the hotel after the tragedy and were reportedly “threatened with arrest” for trying to provide help.
Heslin and Dynamo’s friends have also claimed they tried to record the incident on their phones as evidence, but the restaurant staff purportedly “demanded” that the videos be deleted.

Dynamo is now suing the restaurant for five counts of wrongful death, loss of consortium, negligence, negligent hiring, retention, training, and supervision, and gross negligence, as per the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
MGM Resorts International, the parent company of Javier’s at the Aria Hotel, denied the accusations in the lawsuit. In a statement issued to Page Six on Monday, the hospitality firm said:
“These claims are not aligned with the facts, and we will respond through the legal process.”
