In the latest episode of his podcast, The Truth After Dark, Paul Pierce has blamed Kim Kardashian for shaping modern beauty standards that women emulate today.

Pierce, who was previously married to interior designer and philanthropist Julie Landrum said:

“I blame Kim Kardashian for the women we see today. What we glorify on TV when we see these beautiful women with big old sexy lips and these big old eyelashes and eyebrows and butt and lips banging out the window.”

Although Kardashian has confessed to some cosmetic procedures, primarily Botox and filler, she has long denied major surgeries like butt implants and a nose job.

Pierce is a former NBA player and is best known as a Hall of Famer and longtime captain of the Boston Celtics. He is currently single following his divorce from Landrum. They have been married for thirteen years.

All we know about the relationship between Paul Pierce and Julie Landrum

Paul Pierce and Julie Landrum started dating after their paths crossed at All-Star NBA weekend.

Pierce, who was playing then with the Boston Celtics, admitted in an interview with Boston.com that he developed an instant connection with Landrum upon meeting her. He said:

“She’s an amazing woman. We get along so well because we were such good friends. We started dating after the All-Star weekend in Houston three years ago. The next thing I know we’re living together. Man, we clicked, we bonded.”

Landrum is the daughter of former MLB outfielder Tito Landrum and has an older sister named Melissa. She earned her merchandising degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

She has the experience of working with her mother, Teresa Landrum, as an apprentice and then as a senior designer. After her mother’s retirement, she became the owner of Landrum LLC.

Paul Pierce and Landrum got married at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California, in 2010. During their marriage, they raised three children together – daughters Prianna Lee, Adrian Tanya and a son named Prince Paul.

Speaking to Boston.com in an earlier interview, Paul Pierce said:

“I want to be the dad that my father never was. When I think about raising a child, and knowing I didn’t have a father around, I want to be there for my daughter, to watch her grow into a woman.”

They welcomed their eldest daughter, Prianna in 2008. She also served as a flower girl on her parents’ marriage. At the age of ten, she was inclined towards sports and played softball, tennis and basketball.

Her sister and Paul Pierce’s second child, Adrian was born a year later. They welcomed a son in 2013 who has developed an interest in softball.

In recent years, Pierce has been openly critical of marriage. In his podcasts, he mentioned that “marriage is for old people and poor people,” arguing that many men lose peace and independence in marriage. He also believes that it is advantageous to a woman and might get married again when he turns 70.
