In an episode which aired on October 14, 2025, co-host Sunny Hostin called Kennedy the “least qualified” person to hold the position, condemning his controversial claims linking autism to circumcision and Tylenol use.

Hines came in defence of her husband, highlighting Kennedy's career as an environmental lawyer. She questioned how he could be deemed less qualified than an “economist”, which, according to the New York Post, was a nod to Sylvia Burwell.

In 2024, rumors circulated that Cheryl Hines cheated on her ex-husband, Paul Young, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. However, they were not confirmed. Hines and Young were married from 2002 to 2010. Young was a talent manager and a producer, according to his IMDb page.

Cheryl Hines’ relationship history explored before marrying Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Before Cheryl Hines came in a relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., she was married to Paul Young.

The Curb Your Enthusiasm actress tied the knot with her first husband, Paul, on December 30, 2002. They became parents to their daughter, Catherine, on March 8, 2004.

Their marriage of eight years failed as the couple filed for divorce on July 20, 2010, according to E! News. Hines’ representative said in a statement:

“They will remain extremely close friends and will raise their daughter together.”

After their separation, Young and Hines continued to co-parent their daughter, who was only six at that time.

Four years later, Cheryl Hines got married to her second husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. They walked down the aisle in 2014. This was Kennedy’s third marriage, as before this, he was married to Emily Black from 1982 to 1994, and Mary Richardson from 1994 till 2010.

Kennedy shares two children with Black - Robert "Bobby" Kennedy III, and Kathleen Alexandra "Kick" Kennedy. He has four children with Richardson - Conor Richardson Kennedy, Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy, William Finbar "Finn" Kennedy and Aidan Caohman Vieques Kennedy.

The Independent reported that a source told The New York Post that the reporter was “obsessed” with Kennedy to such an extent that she bombarded him with intimate photos and videos he found difficult to resist.

Hines has largely remained tight-lipped on her husband’s alleged s*xting scandal with Nuzzi. While speaking to the Wall Street Journal, she said that they do not want to comment on it, but emphasized that they are “really good friends” and they “trust each other.”
