Popular People’s artist Stepan Giga is dead. The news was confirmed on his official Instagram on Friday, December 12. Stephan Giga, born Stepan Petrovych Hiha, was a Ukrainian composer and singer known for his hit songs This Dream, Yavorina, Third Toast, and Gold of the Carpathians. In addition to being a pop vocalist, Stepan Giga was also a music educator. He was a professor at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.Stepan was married to Halyna, the director of the GIGARecords recording. They described his condition as serious but stable.“Dear fans, friends! We are forced to inform that we have to cancel the upcoming concerts due to Stepan Petrovich's illness and the urgent surgical intervention. At present, his condition is critical but stable, he is receiving all the necessary medical care but will need time to recover and rehabilitate.”They cancelled all Giga’s scheduled concerts and apologised for any inconvenience.“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and support at this difficult time. We wish Stepan Petrovich a speedy recovery. Stay tuned for updates we will definitely be back.”The statement also assured fans who had bought his tickets that they would get a refund.“We want to assure everyone who bought tickets: ticket operators will be required to refund those orders that were placed on their sites. The only request is to wait a little while, as processing applications and responding to letters may take some time.
