Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox have a baby named Saga Blade Fox Baker, and the Rap Devil hitmaker has opened up about how his daughter’s name came to be. In a July 24 episode of Today’s 8 before 8 series, MGK revealed to fans that he had suggested the name.

The artist regarded the acceptance of his suggestions as a small victory, adding that he hadn’t been so lucky with his name suggestion for Cassie, his first daughter with ex Emma Cannon. He had wanted to name her “kid”:

“Well, I lost the first one and won the second one. When you are 18 years old and you go to her mother and you go, ‘What if we named our kid “Kid?”’ I get why she’s like, ‘Hey man, shut up.’”

The rapper reflected on what could have been if he had been allowed to go through with his suggestions for Cassie, his first daughter:

"That was one of the names. I was like, ‘If her name was Kid, that would be sick.’”

“Nordic goddess of storytelling,” Machine Gun Kelly revealed the meaning of his daughter’s name

In March 2025, Machine Gun Kelly, 35, welcomed his daughter with Transformers actress Megan Fox. His daughter’s unique name, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, was announced. In a June 20, 2025, episode of Today, MGK clarified that his daughter’s name wasn’t a cliche and was inspired by the couple’s journey to becoming her parents.

“I think her journey, you know, the five years of kind of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again. She is an epic story. That's what saga means.”

Megan Fox shared details about how she and MGK dealt with the miscarriage of their baby as creatives in a November 29, 2024, article for WWD:

"That love element really made this miscarriage really tragic for me," she continued, "and left me with a lot of grief and a lot of suffering. So, I put it into a lot of writing. He's written about them in his albums as well; he wrote a couple of songs about the miscarriage."

Machine Gun Kelly further explained that his Norwegian ancestry influenced the name Saga, as it was the name of a Nordic goddess:

"That's the Nordic goddess of storytelling. So, she has a storytelling future ahead of her.”
