On November 15, Polina Nioly Pushkareva took to her TikTok to answer the question, “Who is the worst celebrity you’ve ever worked with?” and said it was English actor-musician Ed Westwick with whom she shared the screen in the 2024 British crime thriller movie, DarkGame.

Pushkareva, 28, is a Russian actress, producer, model, and influencer who is now based in the USA. Her TikTok video was captioned:

“So, I clearly triggered him, and neither me nor a huge team working on this movie even understood what the f**k happened.”

Polina Nioly Pushkareva shared in her clip that her impression of Ed Westwick, 38, was “funny,” considering she had a “childhood crush” on his breakout role of Chuck Bass from the CW teen television drama series Gossip Girl.

Polina explained that not only was she an actor on DarkGame, but also an investor/ producer who spent $350K.

“On the day we start shooting the movie, and he knows who I am, he doesn’t even come to me saying hi and just looks at me weirdly. I don’t know if it's the fact that I was basically paying his salary, and I’m a woman. It’s like an ego male moment, I don’t know, but it was just weird.”

Pushkareva added that she, being a “girly pop,” approached Westwick by saying, “Hey, nice to meet you,” and later filmed a scene together. However, before the shooting, when she seemingly asked him when they should “prepare” for it, he reportedly said he didn’t need to as he’s a “good actor.”

Ed Westwick hasn’t responded to Polina Nioly Pushkareva’s claims yet.

Exploring Polina Nioly Pushkareva’s claims about Ed Westwick

According to Polina Nioly Pushkareva’s recent TikTok clip, Ed Westwick refused to rehearse their scene together in DarkGame and was seemingly behaving like his Gossip Girl character Chuck Bass.

Later, during the filming, she felt “uncomfortable” by the way Westwick touched her cheeks. According to Pushkareva, the scene was “hard” especially for a “beginner actor” like herself, as it was the one in which she would be killed by Ed’s character. She claimed neither was the “touch” part of the script, nor did they discuss it beforehand.

Elsewhere in her video, Polina claimed that her production company was trying to promote the film on social media to raise funds. However, they had a difficult time trying to convince Westwick to do videos for the same.

Pushkareva noted that while Ed didn’t have any “financially successful projects” since Gossip Girl, it was literally her “job” to earn money from social media as an influencer; so, she knew what she was doing.

“We prepared a huge plan for the social media promotion, over a hundred different videos and sent it to the team of Ed. He or his team did not approve any of the ideas and said, ‘I can take a picture.’”
She added, “What’s even funnier is that months later, he recorded one of the ideas we sent with a ‘Gossip Girl’ reference and posted it on his page. Obviously, after this, I deleted him from my crush list, and months after we were shooting the movie, he was following me and unfollowing me on Instagram. It was literally a joke at this point.”

In a follow-up TikTok video, Polina Nioly Pushkareva shared that she and Ed Westwick “absolutely hated each other” on the set of DarkGame. She claimed that she created a promotional page for the movie on Instagram, which amassed 12K followers.

Seemingly to compete with her, Westwick and his team reportedly launched another page but were unable to gain traction. Polina also called the move “weird as f**k.”

“He had 10 million followers back then, and he was posting this movie like 20 times in total, and he was promising his audience that if they tag the movie account and if they tag him, he's going to repost their stories on his account…” Pushkareva noted.

The Russian star conclude, saying:

“You can have millions of followers, but it won’t make you sh*t ton of money if you don’t understand how social media really works.”

In another video posted on Sunday, Polina Nioly Pushkareva shared that her videos helped people realize that their “favorite famous actor” could also be a “trashy person” in real life. She mentioned many others reaching out to her and sharing their “horrible experience” with Ed Westwick on movie sets or photoshoots.

The WarHunt actress claimed that in Hollywood, famous male celebrities were often not held accountable for their “behavior.” Meanwhile, female members of the cast and crew were made to sign multi-million-dollar NDAs. However, since she was the primary investor/ producer on DarkGame, she didn’t need to fear their “insanely expensive lawyers” or being “sued” if she spoke about the celebrities in public.
