R&B/soul singer, songwriter, and producer KEM and his wife Erica Owens are expecting their fifth child together. They confirmed the news during a recent exclusive interview with PEOPLE.“Being a husband and a father continues to be the greatest blessing of my life. Erica and I are looking forward to welcoming another little miracle into our growing family,” the ‘Kemistry’ artist stated.Erica Owens, who is a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and DJ, shared similar sentiments.“Motherhood has been such a meaningful journey for me, and I’m grateful. My husband and I are excited for this next chapter. Our family is already full of love for this little blessing,” she mentioned.This is the couple’s eighth child overall, as KEM, 58, has two daughters from a past relationship, while Erica has one. They live in suburban Atlanta with their children to be closer to Owens’ family in Georgia. She attended Lovejoy High School, Clayton State University, and the Berklee College of Music.Her Facebook bio describes her as a wife, mother, artist, fitness coach, and follower of Jesus.Last month, KEM sat down for an interview with LEVEL and shared that he and his wife had their first date at a church service on New Year’s Eve.“I tell people the Lord was in our relationship from the top,” he quipped.The Love Always Wins artist also recalled asking Erica for her “business card” when he heard that she was a deejay.“I was trying to make a move, but I didn't really know how. I was trying not to let everybody in the room know that I was trying to make a move,” he explained.KEM noted that, like all relationships, they’ve had ups and downs, with days when they didn’t love each other and days when they did.Elsewhere, Kim Lamont Owens mentioned that it took “a lot for me to approach a woman” as he has “no game,” despite creating romantic ballads since 1999. However, he considers his shy nature a “blessing” and believes it’s God’s way of protecting him.In July, Kim Owens released his latest single Give My Love under his independent label Kemistry Records. It features Rex Rideout. The song has the lyrics:“I wanna give my love to you / When the world around is on fire / I wanna give my love to you / When the spirit’s taking us higher.”According to Rated R&B, Give My Love isn’t about KEM’s own romantic life. Instead, it was inspired by his recent trip to South Africa and the strong emotional connection he felt with the country.Give My Love is KEM’s first release since his 2022 EP Full Circle. It is part of his unnamed 2026 album, which also includes the single Rock With Me, released in September and which topped the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart.Kim Owens, who was born in Nashville and raised in Detroit, was signed to Motown Records for 23 years until he parted ways in 2024.
