The 71-year-old voice actor died of throat cancer at Calvary Hospital in New York City, per a report in Deadline. His work included voicing Professor Oak, Gary Oak, Team Rocket member James, and Meowth in the English dub of Pokémon.
It’s been a year since the death of Rachael Lillis, who passed away in August 2024. She was born on July 8, 1969, in Niagara Falls, New York, USA. According to Variety, she began her career as a voice artist in the 1990s.
She voiced Misty, the gym leader who specializes in water-type creatures in the Pokémon anime in 1998. Before pursuing her career as a voice actor, Rachael Lillis planned to be a doctor/medical researcher.
