Raymond Cruz’s arrest has brought increased attention to his personal life, particularly details about his wife, Simi Mehta.
The 60-year-old actor who played Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad was arrested on September 8, 2025 on suspicion of misdemeanor battery, according to a report in People magazine.
Authorities reported that the incident took place at around 10:40 am outside Cruz’s house in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. During that time Cruz was washing his car when he asked the woman to move out of his way. When she refused, she allegedly got sprayed with the hose. He has since been released from police custody and is due back in court on October 1.
Cruz’s wife Simi Mehta is a former actress of Indian descent. She ventured into the Hollywood industry during the 1990s. She is known for films such as Phoenix (1998), The X-Files (1993) and Strange World (1999), according to her IMDb profile.

She was born in 1973 in United States. She is of Indian descent but is an American national. However, details about her family remain undisclosed in the reports. She attended Northern Illinois University, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in astrophysics in 1994.
