Hollywood is in a state of shock after Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead on December 14 at their residence in Brentwood, a neighbourhood in West Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid call at their residence, where they discovered the bodies of a man and woman, aged 78 and 68. A spokesperson later confirmed their identities. According to the law enforcement’s statement, as reported to TMZ, the couple received “lacerations consistent with a knife.” The LAPD is investigating the deaths as an apparent homicide.

Michele met Rob Reiner on the set of When Harry Met Sally in 1988. They have been together since they tied the knot in 1989. She was an actress, photographer, producer, and philanthropist. She collaborated on several of her husband’s projects and produced documentaries like God & Country.
She also served as an exceptional photographer on Misery and featured in the film Mixed Nuts. She worked as a producer on projects such as Shock and Awe, Albert Brooks: Defending My Life, and Spinal Tap II.

Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner shared a decades-long marriage that lasted for about 36 years.
Michele was Reiner’s second wife as he was previously married to the late Penny Marshall. During their marriage, Rob Reiner adopted her daughter, Tracy, from a previous relationship.
In an interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace, Rob Reiner revealed that his romance with Michele, whom he met on the sets of When Harry Met Sally, inspired the film’s happy ending. He had originally planned a bittersweet ending for the film. Describing the details, Reiner said:
“The original ending of the film that we had was that Harry and Sally didn’t get together. I’d been married for ten years. I’d been single for ten years, and I couldn’t figure out how I was ever going to be with anybody.”

The couple welcomed three children during their marriage. Their eldest child is their son Jake, who was born in 1991. In an interview with People magazine, Rob revealed that he and his father, Rob Reiner, share their love for baseball. He said:
“My dad was a huge, huge baseball fan. He passed it onto me, and I passed it onto Jake.”
Jake is also an actor and is known for Love and Taxe$, Things Like This and Shock and Awe. He is also in a relationship, as he recently shared a picture with his partner on his Instagram.
They then welcomed their second child, Nick, in 1993. He co-wrote the semi-autobiographical film, Being Charlie. Nick has been open about his battles with substance abuse starting in his teens. He entered rehab at the age of 15 and attended over a dozen programs.
Romy Reiner is the youngest child of Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner. She is an actress, producer, and director. She appeared in You People, Voices and Born Again Virgin.
Reporting on the recent death of Rob and Michele Reiner, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton told CNN that investigators are waiting to obtain a search warrant to move ahead with the legal case. Once they receive the warrant, a full crime scene investigation will be launched including “the interior and exterior of the residence and the surrounding neighborhood.”
