Shannon Price, the ex-wife of the actor Gary Coleman, who starred in films like The Little Rascals and the animated series The Gary Coleman Show, voluntarily took a polygraph test on the A&E special, Lie Detector: Truth or Deception.

She took the test to clear her name and publicly address longstanding suspicions surrounding the death of her ex-husband, Gary Coleman, in 2010. Coleman had died of a brain hemorrhage caused by a fall at his home in Utah.

Shannon made an appearance on the TV show Divorce Court alongside Gary Coleman in 2008. She also appeared on the Entertainment Tonight series. Price also appeared in the 2024 Peacock documentary Gary, alongside the 2020 documentary The Gary I Knew.

According to Actlings, Price largely keeps a low profile, and in 2019, she began working for WeWork as their tri-state Director of Broker Relations. Reports suggest that Price has no plans to pursue acting, despite having worked in the TV industry.

More about Shannon Price failing the polygraph test

Price took a polygraph test on the A&E special Lie Detector: Truth or Deception, which will premiere on July 10 at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.

Price revealed new details on the show. She said:

“He never fell down the stairs — any stairs, none. So this narrative about me pushing him down the stairs is just BS. I found him in the kitchen. When the police came and the EMTs came, he was still in the kitchen. What I think happened was we had a kitchen island, and I think he had hit and fell.''

She continued:

“I was upstairs, he was downstairs, that’s when I heard a big ol’ crash,” Price recalled. “So then I called his name, ‘Gary! Gary!’ And he didn't respond, and that’s when I got up and flew downstairs to find him. I obviously called 911.”

Price and Gary married in 2007 and were divorced in 2008; however, they continued to live together in the same house after their divorce.

Later in the show, while Price was hooked up to a lie detector monitor, a veteran polygraph examiner and former FBI agent asked Price if she had caused Gary to fall. She replied, saying no; however, the result on the detector was 'deception indicated.'

The examiner then told her:

“You failed the exam regarding Gary's fall. There's two things I know for sure, Shannon. One, you were not completely honest with me yesterday during this polygraph section. And two, the other thing I know that's 100% certain, is that there is more to this story that hasn't been told. The body never lies. The body always tells the truth. And your body on that lie detector test spoke loud and clear, there's something that caused you to fail this test.

Shannon replied, saying:

''I know where I'm at. I'm at peace. There is a reason I am not in prison. There is a legit reason for that. It's because they did a thorough investigation.''

The public and media widely suspected Price of Gary's death, though she was never criminally charged, and the official cause was ruled accidental.
