Travis Hunter’s father, Travis Hunter Sr., was recently granted permission to attend his son’s wedding with fiancée Leanna Lenee, which was held on May 24, 2025, in Tennessee.

Friends and family of the NFL star were seen at the event, which also included his dad, who earlier received court permission to attend the 2025 NFL draft of his son. On Saturday, he made his appearance at his son’s wedding.

Hunter’s father is a former football player. He played for the Boynton Beach High School in Florida in the early 2000s, according to a report in the USA Today, a report in Men's Journal said. He was also in a semipro league in Florida. In 2023, he was reportedly arrested on drug and gun charges. He is currently serving a three-year probation, which he was granted when released from the detention centre in Belle Glade, Florida.

According to a report in The New York Times, Travis Hunter Sr. was granted permission by the courts to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in April 2025. He was placed under home confinement in Florida during his son, Travis Hunter's, Heisman Trophy ceremony.

During his speech at the ceremony last year, Travis Hunter got emotional when talking about his father. According to CBS Sports, he said:

"I want to say something to my father. He's not here and wasn't able to make it, but I know you're watching on TV. Dad, I love you. For all the stuff you went through man … Now look at your oldest son. I did it for you, man."

Travis Hunter Sr. was sentenced to 90 days in prison in September 2024 after being arrested regarding 2023’s gun and drug charges. He was unable to attend his son's Heisman Trophy ceremony, as after his release from the Palm Beach County West Detention Center in Belle Glade, he was placed under probation for three days and ordered to complete the first year under home confinement. Reportedly, the draft was scheduled to be held from April 24 to April 26, 2025.

According to a report in the New York Post, Travis Hunter and his wife, Leanna Lenee, announced their engagement in 2024. They reportedly met in 2022 and they sparked a romantic connection after attending a birthday party together.
