Trey Sherman, a veteran producer at CBS News, was laid off from his team as part of a major round of cuts at Paramount Global, CBS’s parent company.

He is a skilled producer with over 10 years of experience in the television industry. He has also worked on projects for NBC's Meet the Press and various CBS News programs.

Taking to his TikTok account, Sherman shared the news in a clip. He questioned the company’s motives behind his firing. He alleged that every producer on his team who was asked to go was a person of color (POC) while white employees were merely reassigned or retained.

Sherman further told his followers in the video that when he asked the company’s executive if they were being relocated to some other place, he allegedly lied to his face and told him that he tried to do so, but they couldn’t. Sherman later found out that the decision was up to his executive to decide who got to stay and called him a “racist.” His statement has raised concerns regarding the race-based layoffs at CBS.
