Who is Udo Kier's partner? What we know about Blood for Dracula star's family and personal life amid his death at 81

Udo Kier and Delbert McBride were together for a long time. Kier died at the age of 81. The news was announced by his partner, McBride. However, as of now, the exact cause of his death hasn't been revealed.

Born in Cologne, the German actor soon became a big name in the Hollywood industry after appearing on huge projects like Mark Of The Devil and Joseph Balsamo.

Kier mostly kept his personal life away from the spotlight, choosing not to share many details about his family. Kier's partner, Delbert McBride, is an artist who has large expertise in paintings and sculptures. One of his earlier exhibitions, "Going Solo," at the Shawn Savage Gallery in Palm Springs, showed around sixty of his pieces and was organized by Shawn Savage and Kier.

While Udo Kier's family details have been mostly kept private, the German actor, while speaking to the Guardian, revealed that he lived with his mother in his childhood and was brought up without a father figure, stating:

"I never met my father because he remarried and didn’t want to admit that he had three children from his previous marriage."

Speaking of his childhood, he said in an interview with Sarah's Backstage Pass:

"My mother went to the hospital and said to the nurses, “Can I have him a little longer?” Then an enemy plane destroyed the hospital. She made a hole in the wall to hide us, and that was the first few hours of my life."

Kier also revealed that his childhood was tough, with his mother not having money for his high school fees due to the world war. This led Kier to start a job in a factory so that he could shift to London.

Udo Kier was also asked about his take on love in his interview with Interview Magazine, to which he said:

"Next to peace, it is maybe the most important word. If everybody would love each other, there would be no war. It doesn’t have to be a man loves a woman. It can also be a dog. I love nature. I have a ranch and when I sit there and see a little lizard and birds, I really love what I see and I’m love with nature."

There's no publicly confirmed information about his siblings. Earlier this year, Udo Kier was also seen in a photo with writer Kim Morgan and Delbert McBride.
