Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal dispute has a new twist, with Blake allegedly using her celebrity status to change the location of the deposition, as per Baldoni's team.

In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual misconduct and trying to damage her reputation. While Justin denied the claims, he also sued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million in January 2025, accusing them of defamation, extortion, and spreading false claims about him.

As reported by Page Six, Blake Lively will be questioned by Baldoni’s lawyers on July 17 as part of their ongoing court case. However, according to recent reports by Page Six, the It Ends With Us actress is trying to move the deposition to her own lawyer’s office, saying she’s uncomfortable with the possibility of being photographed by paparazzi at Baldoni’s lawyer’s office.

Justin Baldoni’s legal team has opposed Lively’s request, saying she hasn’t provided any solid reason to worry about paparazzi. They also noted that her lawyer’s office and theirs are very near to each other, which they believe makes her concerns about media attention less convincing.

Justin Baldoni’s team accuses Blake Lively of using fame to control the lawsuit

In the filing statement, Justin's team wrote:

"Although Lively’s foot-stomping and use of her celebrity status may have enabled her to seize control of the film, which is the crux of this dispute, her counsel’s tantrum has no place in this Court. Lively is bound by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure like every litigant."

As per his team, changing the deposition locations keeps them at an unfair position. Bryan Freedman, Justin's attorney, told TMZ in a reported statement:

"If Blake Lively is really serious about testifying for the world to see, let's live stream it in Madison Square Garden and give the money to the domestic violence survivors"

After the statement was revealed to the media, Lively's attorney called it a publicity stunt through a statement in People:

"Ms. Lively is looking forward to her deposition next week, and it should follow the same rules as every other witness in this case. Justin Baldoni’s lawyer has tried to make this matter a public spectacle at every turn, even proposing to sell tickets to a televised deposition at Madison Square Garden"

The location of the intended venue was kept hidden from the public in the court documents filed on Friday. Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s trial is scheduled for March 2026 in New York.
