Dolly Parton is opting out of attending the Governor's Awards.

USA Today has reported that the iconic country songstress, who recently announced she would be postponing her Las Vegas concerts due to "health challenges," will be absent from the awards show on November 16. However, a representative has since confirmed that it won't be due to her health.

"We told Governors Awards/Academy in June she could not attend due to a scheduling conflict when they first approached us," Parton's publicist, Marcel Pariseau, said in an email to the outlet.

The awards ceremony will reportedly honor Parton, Tom Cruise, Debbie Allen, and Wynn Thomas, a production designer. The songstress, who will be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, will instead deliver her acceptance speech via live feed from Nashville, Pariseau revealed.

Everything we know about Dolly Parton being honored at this year's Governor's Awards:

Academy President Janet Yang said in a statement in June, after it was announced that Dolly Parton would be honored at the ceremony:

“This year’s Governors Awards will celebrate four legendary individuals whose extraordinary careers and commitment to our filmmaking community continue to leave a lasting impact. The Academy’s Board of Governors is honored to recognize these brilliant artists.”

Dolly Parton boasts two Oscar nominations in the original song category, for “Nine to Five” and “Travelin’ Thru." She also boasts several film credits and is being honored for her philanthropic efforts via the organizations she has founded, including Dollywood Foundation.

As for her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, she announced over the weekend on Instagram that she was forced to undergo several medical procedures, forcing her to take a break from performing:

'I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,' Parton wrote. 'As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.' She also joked that it felt like time for her '100,000-mile check-up,' clarifying that it wasn't her 'usual trip to see [her] plastic surgeon.'

However, Dolly Parton assured fans that she isn't looking to retire anytime soon:

'Don't worry about me quittin' the business because God hasn't said anything about stopping yet,' she said. 'But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.'

The original dates were scheduled for December 4, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 13. However, Ticketmaster states that the new dates for next year are September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 26. Ticketholders will be privy to the new dates on their passes. Alternatively, they can opt for refunds, per Dolly Parton's post.
