Gale Brophy has criticized the newer cast of Members Only: Palm Beach for failing to uphold Palm Beach's culture of elegance, etiquette and philanthropy.
Brophy is a veteran Palm Beach socialite and a recurring member on the Netflix show. In a January 8 interview with TMZ, Brophy, who is often referred to as the Queen of Palm Beach stated that her primary concern was not the drama but rather what she sees as a misrepresentation of Palm Beach culture.

She said that the town operates under a “strict code” of refined behavior and charitable involvement qualities that she believes newer women lack. She further argued that several cast members are not even Palm Beach residents which reflects in their behaviour as it does not align with the town’s traditional sophistication.
While admitting she enjoyed the filming Gale Brophy emphasized that “elegance isn’t optional” in Palm Beach society.

Who is Gale Brophy? All we need to know
Gale Brophy is a prominent Palm Beach socialite, businesswoman, philanthropist, and horse racing enthusiast. She is the CEO of Estates By Brophy (a luxury hospitality business) & Board of Directors at American Red Cross. She is also known for her involvement in horse breeding and racing and was the co-owner of 1991 Kentucky Derby Winner, Strike the Gold. She also managed two multi-million-dollar horse farms.
In a radio interview, Gale Brophy recalled that MC Hammer had tried to buy her horse, which she refused to sell. She said:
“MC Hammer was trying to buy the horse. And kept offering money, and I was like you’re not buying this horse. This horse is going to win the Kentucky Derby.”
Brophy was born in April 1955, making her 70 years old and has been a fixture in elite circles for over forty years. According to her LinkedIn profile, she studied business at New York University. She reportedly launched her career on Wall Street in the mid-1970s after graduating her college.

She started as an assistant to the Government Bond Trading Desk at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). She later worked as an investment banker at Brophy Gestal Knight Partnership and became a recognised dealer.
Brophy was previously married to Wall Street executive, B. Giles Brophy with whom she co-owned businesses and the Derby-winning horse. They had one son together. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1992.
Giles remarried Patricia Rohrbaugh Brophy and had four more children before passing at age 69. Gale continued to focus on her businesses, philanthropy, and Palm Beach social scene.
When it comes to her health, Gale Brophy has denied undergoing any procedures in order to look youthful. During Being Tracy podcast in November 2024, she stated she has never had face work, Botox, fillers or neck procedures. She even showed her skin on camera and noted that no makeup was used.
Gales Brophy recently featured in Members Only: Palm Beach as a mentor to philanthropist Rosalyn Yellin. The eight-episode show premiered on Netflix on December 29.
