Jason Momoa took to Instagram to share some important news while shaving his beard for the first time in six years. The Aquaman actor shaved off his beard while delivering an important message about single-use plastic. He wrote in the caption:

"Haven't shaved in six years, and here we are again. I launched @mananalu to help eliminate single-use plastic. Now, we're taking it even further, partnering with our team at @Getboomerangwater to bring in a closed-loop system that sanitizes and bottles water onsite."

He elaborated:

"That means even less waste, reduced shipping footprint, and our aluminum bottles get reused over and over. This is the future, and we're starting in Hawai'i. Let's get rid of single-use plastic. For our children and for our planet. All my aloha, j"

How did Jason Momoa react to seeing his face without his signature beard?

In the video clip Jason Momoa shared on Instagram, he gave his followers a glimpse of himself shaving off his beard while talking about stopping single-use plastic, as well as his reaction.

The 45-year-old actor's video started with him looking at the mirror/phone, saying:

"Yeah, damn it. I hate it."

He then launches into how he started Mananalu, a company that aims to:

"urgently rid the world of single-use plastic bottles... fighting to clear the shelves of those harmful plastics and pull them from our oceans—one bottle at a time."

Jason Momoa mentioned how he started the company while he was filming for Dune, claiming that Mananalu was one of the first to release aluminum bottles. He also talked about their partnership with Boomerang to introduce a "closed-loop system," which further helps to "eliminate waste and cut down on all the emissions".

Regarding single-use plastics, Momoa reiterated:

"We don't need it."

While shaving his beard, he announced:

"I wanna, like, tell you guys, and inform people that Mananalu, powered by Boomerang, is out there trying to make changes."

After shaving half of his beard, he looks at the camera and breaks out into laughter after looking at himself.

Jason Momoa may have guffawed at his clean-shaven face, but his message was serious. It is time to ditch single-use plastic, and through Mananalu and Boomerang, he is pushing for real, sustainable change, starting with Hawai'i.
