Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson recalled the time when NBCUniversal got upset with him for the cancellation of his semi-autobiographical series Bupkis after just one season.

According to a report in Deadline, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, the actor said that his decision surprised the studio with whom he shared a long-term relationship. He said:

“They were not pleased. Have you seen me in any NBCUniversal [project since]? They were upset. I cost people jobs and I took care of the writers’ room and anyone who didn’t get paid that needed to, I took care of it — which also hurt.”

Did NBCUniversal cut ties with Pete Davidson after the cancellation of Bupkis?

The cordial relationship between NBCUniversal and Pete Davidson grew strained after he cancelled Bupkis; however, they didn’t officially cut ties with him. Davidson recalled that the parent company was not pleased with his decision.

Deadline reported how the company behaved with him following the incident. When asked if he was ‘blacklisted’ by NBCUniversal, he said:

No, I think we’re cool. I talk to everyone over there now and we’re cool. There was a little time where there was some heat and it wasn’t all good … and I understand why, but it just hurt because it was a place I worked for over a decade.”

He added that for once he thought that it might end his career since it was the company where he had worked for a long time.

Furthermore, Pete Davidson recently also spoke about how he feels ‘guilty and horrible’ because his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, isn't able to experience a normal private pregnancy. He told The Breakfast Club that due to his fame, she will suffer collateral damage in their relationship. He said -

“I feel bad for my girl because I bring a lot of s—t. Anything I do or she does now is gonna be a thing.”

Pete Davidson further added,

“She’s a very private person and she’s the one doing all the work. It’s supposed to be a beautiful experience. She’s never made me feel this way or said anything….but I feel so guilty and horrible that I could not allow her to have the ideal pregnancy that almost every woman gets to have and enjoy.”

Hewitt is a model and an actress. She is known for Teenage Badass (2020), Turnt (2018), Benny Blanco & Juice WRLD: Graduation (2019), and Mostly Ghostly: Have You Met My Ghoulfriend? (2014), according to her IMDb profile.

The couple announced their pregnancy on July 16, 2025, through an Instagram post. The post read-

“welp now everyone knows we had s*x.”

Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt are not married but have been involved in a romantic relationship since March 2025, as per People magazine. They were first spotted together in Palm Beach, Florida. Their first red carpet appearance as a couple was on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
