English actress Sophie Turner, who came to prominence with Game of Thrones, has recently made it very obvious she's established geographically and psychologically in the UK. She traded Hollywood living following her breakup with Joe Jonas for going back home. Now she's establishing herself in a less flashy, more earthy lifestyle, less about flight and more about finally being herself.

Leaving life in America behind hasn't been a feeling of abandoning something; it's been the choice that has come into perspective. In England, she's returned to the comfort of family, safety for her children, and a home where she can truly return to herself.

Sophie Turner's decision to stay in the UK

Her reasons lie in something that most of us know: home is not just a place; it's support. Sophie Turner told Flaunt Magazine she "never wants to move again," crediting the value of family and friends to her happiness.

Even before the breakup, Sophie Turner had been dropping hints for years that she wanted to live in England forever. In a 2022 Elle UK interview, she admitted that she was missing "the people, the attitude, everything," and went on to say that it was better for her mentally to be among people that she loved. Over the Christmas period of 2022, she and Joe began house hunting for their "forever home" in England, looking at houses and schools, and putting a deposit on a house in Henley-on-Thames.

After the breakup, that ambition became a reality. Sources state there were still outstanding custody issues. Turner accused Joe of withholding passports and not allowing her to return to the UK, but by early 2024, the dispute had been settled, and Turner had returned for good with her children, seeking schools and beginning a new life in England.

Her decision isn't just personal; it's practical. She's scaling back public life, prioritizing family life and work that are in tune with her energy levels and values.

Turner's choice to stay in the UK is based on one simple reality: she thrives where she is cared for. The comfort of family, belonging, and a desire to raise her daughters in a familiar, stable setting have instilled her with a strong sense of home. It's not an avoidance of past life; it's entering into a place where she loves waking up.
