Terence Crawford is in the middle of a legal drama amid an alleged conflict with a jeweler. According to TMZ, a lawsuit was filed against the American former professional boxer by Mazza New York, a renowned jewelry brand, over Crawford's promises of promoting the brand and not completing it.

Mazza's lawsuit reportedly seeks $1.5 million from Crawford, plus compensation for other damages.

Owned by Paul Mazza, the jewelry brand sells earrings, pendants, chains, bracelets, and rings. The lawsuit was filed on December 18.

Earlier this month, Mazza tagged Terence Crawford in one of their Instagram videos, where the boxer was seen in the ring. The caption read:

"🥊 LETS GO CHAMP @tbudcrawford ‼️‼️ ONE MORE A$$ TO BEAT TO GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 TBC X MAZZA NEW YORK 🏆🏆 🏆"

What happened between Terence Crawford and Mazza?

According to the lawsuit information received by TMZ, Terence Crawford visited Mazza earlier this year, in February. While he was there, he decided to get the Patek Philippe Aquanaut watch, which was estimated to be around $139k. The original watch by the brand became famous for its bold and modern design.

Crawford reportedly told Mazza that he would like to get the item and would promote the company during his upcoming matches to make up for it. As for the amount, he paid only $35k.

Though Mazza was okay with this, during Crawford's match in August with Israil Madrimov, Terence Crawford couldn't fulfill his promise completely as the logo came off.

After the match, the boxer, as per the agreement, decided to make up during his fight with Canelo Alvarez.

Mazza also mentioned their match in May this year, where the boxer was seen wearing Mazza's t-shirt during his training. The caption read:

"Terence Crawford VS Canelo Alvarez 🥊"

However, he was later told that:

"logo would not appear on Crawford’s shorts during the Alvarez fight."

According to Mazza's statement obtained by TMZ, the jewelry brand was not given any clear motive why the logo wasn't added to Crawford's trunks, despite the previous agreement and the patch being delivered on time.

Their fight was also livestreamed on Netflix, gaining the attention of millions of viewers.

This issue led Mazza to file the lawsuit, asking for the stated amount. He says Crawford never paid the full amount and did not promote the brand as promised, which led to the decision, as the brand lost a chance to grow its name.
