According to a recent statement by Marc Agnifilo to TMZ, the lawyer of Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, the rapper is not planning to return to his musical career after serving his jail time.
The lawyer said that the music mogul will mostly focus on his personal matters, his seven children, and his mother, who showed up for him during the trials in court. As per ABC News, Diddy's sentencing will be in October 2025 for his convictions on two federal counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.
The music mogul trial had begun in May this year and ended in the first week of July, and included testimony from more than a dozen witnesses.
What is Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo saying about his plans after prison?
Marc Agnifilo, who was the lead defense lawyer in Diddy's 2025 federal criminal case, shared a little about what Diddy would be doing post his prison time. Marc Agnifilo informed TMZ that their main goal is to make sure Diddy gets a fair sentence so he can finish his time and move on. Once he’s out of prison, Diddy doesn’t plan to focus on making music.
His lawyer also said that if things go well, Diddy might do something special, like a show at Madison Square Garden, though it’s not guaranteed. For now, Diddy is focusing on improving himself in prison after being denied bail again.
When the case against Diddy first began, the federal indictment and earlier civil suits painted a long list of allegations, interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution, coercion and enticement to engage in prostitution, sex trafficking, drug distribution, kidnapping, bribery, arson, and obstruction & witness tampering, among others, as per a report by CNN.
Then, in July, the federal jury found him guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution under the Mann Act. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, but the convictions still carried prison time. Diddy was also repeatedly denied bail because Judge Arun Subramanian felt that the music mogul could be a flight risk and could also be a danger to the community, especially given the evidence of past violence and witness intimidation, according to a report by ABC News.
The testimonies given in the court included high-profile celebrities like Cassie Ventura and Kid Cudi. Other witnesses were Diddy's former employees, security, escorts, law enforcement, and digital forensics experts, the prosecution’s RICO and Mann Act experts.
Diddy's family had publicly and privately supported him during the trial. Among his children, Justin, Quincy, and Christian “King” Combs were spotted in court on different days. As of now, Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York.
