The internet has created a widespread buzz after Charlie XCX apparently liked an Instagram post that said Taylor Swift “dewiggered” Travis Kelce.

The post took a jab at Swift, which featured her pictures flaunting her engagement ring, and was captioned –

“She captured his wigrosity within the crystal on the ring, it’s a dewiggerizing amulet.”

The post implied Kelce was a “wigger,” which is a slang and derogatory term used for a white person who emulates behavior stereotypically associated with African-Americans. It referenced the NFL player’s ex, Kayla Nicole, whom he dated from 2017 to 2022.

Although Charlie disliked the post shortly but the screenshots went viral. A user on X wrote

“[tagged Charlie XCX] you’re weird as hell”

The singers have been part of an ongoing rumored feud that escalated when the pop star released her album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3, 2025. Fans believe that Swift’s latest track, Actually R omantic is a diss track aimed at the Fancy singer.

Fans react as Charlie XCX seemingly likes a post aimed at Taylor Swift

Fans reacted strongly on X (formerly Twitter) as Charlie XCX seemingly liked a post targeting Taylor Swift. The post accused Travis Kelce of being a “wigger” and suggested that Swift “dewiggered” him with a ring.

Although Charlie removed her from the post, the incident sparked discussions about the ongoing feud between the two singers.

“charli liking racist things as a way to get back at taylor, then unliking it bc she got scared. oh ok.” Another added.
“Liking a Taylor hate post with a SLUR?? [tagged charli_xcx], you’re a disgusting trashy crackhead who will also NEVER see yourself close to Taylor’s success—ironic considering Taylor was the only person generous enough to give you the charity to perform on a stadium tour.” A user wrote.
“[tagged Charlie XCX] girl i used to like you. in 2012 when no one did. BEFORE super ultra. i’m a born hater yet i still gave you the benefit of the doubt. your outward actions are so incredibly disappointing.” A third added.

However, some users were of a different opinion.

“so taylor can make a whole song about her because she misinterpreted the song charli made but if charli likes a post that’s where you paint the line?” Some user wrote.
“she did not like this??? just more desperate lies from swifties” Another person added.

According to a report in Elle, Taylor Swift’s track Actually Romantic from The Life of a Showgirl is rumored to be about the British singer and songwriter. It appears to be a response to her 2024 song, Sympathy Is a Knife.

On her track, Charlie sings:

“I don’t wanna share the space / I don’t wanna force a smile / This one girl taps my insecurities / Don’t know if it’s real or if I’m spiraling.”

While on Actually Romantic, Swift sings:

“I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave / High-fived my ex and then said you’re glad he ghosted me / Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face.”

Taylor Swift and Charlie XCX initially had a friendly relationship. Charli opened up for Taylor during her 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour. However, in 2019, she commented on her being invited to the tour. In an interview with Pitchfork, she said:

“I’m really grateful that [Taylor] asked me on that tour. But as an artist, it kind of felt like I was getting up on stage and waving to 5-year-olds.”

Her statement disappointed Swifties and led to the beginning of tensions between them.
