Four General Hospital characters who could use some Christmas cheer

Christmas will bring happiness to some characters on General Hospital. Some characters are in happy romances. Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braedyn Bruner) are falling in love. Cody (Josh Kelly) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) just got past their issues and hiccups and shared a real kiss at the Quartermaine stables.

Other General Hospital characters have a lot of issues during the holiday season. Some have problems of their own making. Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) is obvious as she is on trial for shooting Drew (Cameron Mathison), whom she married to help prove her innocence. Chase (Josh Swickard) just got suspended for helping her. Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) is burning bridges in her return to Port Charles as she covers up for Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and the mysterious research project.

Some General Hospital characters need more glad tidings

But, there are other characters on General Hospital who have problems they can’t control, and need a boost of holiday happiness and cheer, or some positive news under their Christmas tree. Here are four who stand out:

Lulu Spencer

Poor Lulu (Alexa Havins Bruening) has been a henpecked mother lately. She just got through Rocco’s (Finn Carr) trial for breaking into Dalton’s office after she was worrying about him getting jail time. No sooner was that over when she found out Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) had escaped, and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) admitted to her that she was thinking about running away with her father. Then, Lulu found out that Rocco had been texting with Britt, who gave birth to him. Perhaps overreacting to the fear of losing Charlotte, Lulu blocked Britt’s number on Rocco’s phone, banning her from contacting him that way.

Lulu has the daily stress on General Hospital of wondering where Valentin is, and worried that at any moment he is going to kidnap their daughter and take her. And she has to navigate Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) conflict with Rocco over the lab break-in, as well as Dante’s conflict with his other son, Gio. And her bestie, Maxie (Kirsten Storms), is still comatose in Boston.

Lulu could use a break. She could use a night out on the town at the Savoy, a nice relaxing meal at Bobbie’s with both of her children, or even a drink with her friend Nathan (Ryan Paevey), who has been so supportive of the journalist that she hasn’t wondered where he’s been for the past seven years (a question everyone else in Port Charles has forgotten). Or maybe Valentin will contact her and tell her what his plan is, because we have no idea what he’s going to do next.

Jason Morgan

Our favorite occasional mob enforcer (Steve Burton) is not having a relaxing and joyful holiday season on General Hospital. When he’s not helping Britt with her latest catastrophe, he’s trying to deal with hiding Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) body and Sidwell’s efforts to frame Laura (Genie Francis) for Dalton’s murder. Those problems intersect when he tries to get Britt to tell him what’s going on with her mysterious research. Jason is determined to see the best of Britt, but she tests his patience on a daily basis. So far, his Christmas has entailed telling Molly that Cody isn’t interested in Britt. Jason needs some time this Christmas to focus on himself and his family, and maybe spend time with the Quartermaines and honor Monica.

Trina Robinson

Our favorite art student heroine (Tabyana Ali) has been reeling from the fact that her parents are divorcing, and her mother, Portia (Brook Kerr), is pregnant. But her world was really rocked when she found out that her mom had an affair with Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), and he could be the father of her future sibling. This came while she and Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) were sitting in at Willow’s trial, hiding the fact that they were at Drew’s house when the shooting occurred.

Trina has been back together with Kai for a little while on General Hospital, but all is not well with her. Even before she found out about the affair, Trina had a bout with seasonal depression after decorating her Christmas tree. She laid on her couch in the dark and stared at it, sad about the state of her family. And she has no idea that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is a WSB agent.

Trina could use some holiday cheer. More girl time with friends, such as Emma, or some good news to distract her from her family problems.

Elizabeth Webber

Our favorite henpecked head nurse (Rebecca Herbst) has little reason to be cheerful for Christmas. Her three boys are AWOL. Her last boyfriend, Lucky (Jonathan) is gone, and she is battling mites on her eyelids. All she has done lately is trade barbs with Britt as her supervisor, repeating snarky conversations they had 10 years ago. And she is supporting Willow as one of the attempted murder suspect’s only friends.

It's unclear what Elizabeth’s Christmas plans will be on General Hospital. She won’t go to court to support Willow, as the trial is now in recess. We probably won’t see her boys. She could use a night out on the town. Or some art supplies. Or who knows, maybe she could find a new man, a handsome doctor, or someone not currently on the canvas, to give her some attention and cheer for the holidays.
