General Hospital alum Lexi Ainsworth wraps production on feature film

General Hospital alum Lexi Ainsworth is starring in new film that will debut in 2026.

Ainsworth, who formerly played Kristina Corinthos-Davis, is starring in the movie Cookie, which recently wrapped production and is now in post production.

The movie is being made by Camden Way Productions, which is a company started and run by Ainsworth, along with Extra Crunchy Productions, which is billing Cookie is its first full-length feature.

The producers describe the film as “A new thriller-comedy. ‘Balkan Noir’ - twisty, dark and slightly mad, with a sharp, satirical wit.” It was filmed on location in Transylvania, Romania and London, England, and is currently in post-production with a release date in the summer of 2026.

The script was written by John Clive Carter, who is also the executive producer, and was directed by Armine Vosganian.

The movie also stars Tristan Alexander, Dragos Mostenescu and Alma Nicole Bioangiu.

Barber has won five acting awards at film festivals in his career, according to his IMDB profile. He recently shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the production of him and Ainsworth filming scenes.

In Barber’s post, the former GH star appeared to be dressed like a police detective. According to her mother, Renee Ainsworth, her daughter and Barber are involved in mob drama, just like Ainsworth was on General Hospital as the daughter of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Ainsworth’s mother commented on the Instagram post “Check this out. Still the mob bosses daughter.”

Extra Crunchy, which describes itself as “Nuts about film,” has shared several posts on its Instagram account promoting the filming in recent weeks.

Also, Mostenescu recently shared some stills of him and Ainsworth together on his Instagram account.

Ainsworth played Kristina on General Hospital off and on from 2009 to 2023. She was nominated twice for a Daytime Emmy for playing the role, winning one in 2017 as Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.

In 2023, Emmy winner Kate Mansi took over the role of Kristina, and Ainsworth has been focusing on her production company since.

Since leaving General Hospital, Ainsworth starred on an episode of NCIS in a 2023 episode, which was Season 20, Episode 20 of the long-running iconic show. She was also executive producer of a movie called Witchy Ways, a supernatural romance which is on Amazon Prime and stars David Fumero and Diora Baird.
