General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, August 22: Will Elizabeth finally wake up about Willow?

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

If there are two female characters on General Hospital who don't deserve the benefit of the doubt but do deserve a stint in Ferncliff, it's both Kristina and Willow. As Kristina went off on Willow in the hospital halls and declared her an unfit mother, all we could think about was Kristina's wacky idea to try to kill Ava by cutting her brakes earlier this year. Apparently, that was all Elizabeth could think about as she witnessed the scene, as Kristina really cut Ric's brakes, and Ric and Kristina were almost killed. While we agreed with Elizabeth's assessment that sometimes we have to show grace in this world in the same way that Liz showed Kristina grace, we do not agree that Kristina should show Willow grace. Heck, we don't even think Liz should have shown the same to Kristina. What she should have done was turn her in. Instead, she reminded Kristina that she made mistakes too, so why be so hard on Willow? We were ready to scream, but the GH showed us some hope. Elizabeth heard her dumb new roommate on the phone, begging Drew for help. At this point, Liz really needs to give up, force her unwell nurse to take a leave of absence, and just send her back to Drew's Dawn of Day house, since that's clearly where she wants to be.
