Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

When Elizabeth first started rubbing her eyes and other characters started wondering what was wrong, we thought it was the start of a brand-new and exciting story for Elizabeth Webber Baldwin. Perhaps the long-time hard-luck heroine was going blind. Since Elizabeth is in desperate need of an actual storyline, we are giddy. Then, it became quite clear that Elizabeth was being used as a prop, as usual. Liz is often used to prop up other characters' stories or to try to make unpopular characters popular (Hamilton Finn, anyone?). But this time, she was being used in a prop for a PSA about the dangers of demodex blepharitis, aka eyelash mites. Yes, really. Today, General Hospital presented us with an entire very bad (and we mean VERY bad) public service announcement about eye mites. Don't ignore that dry and itchy feeling in your eyes, especially when it's accompanied by swollen eyelids. While we appreciate the message (we think), we didn't think it was appropriate to use someone who is supposed to be a lead character for this little PSA. Elizabeth is more than a prop and should be treated as such. She is a legacy character, has led stories for a quarter of a century, and deserves to have a storyline of her own at the moment. This feels like par for the course with the way GH has treated this character since Franco died and we don't like it one bit.

Want more details? We got you! Soap Central has the best full GH recaps on the internet! You can even go back over 30 years and read each and every one of ‘em. If you can’t wait until the next episode, we have daily spoilers, too! And whatever you do this weekend, do not…seriously, do NOT…forget to read the Two Scoops for some laughs (hey, admit it, we’re funny) in the as-close-as-we-can-come to being a watching party without actually being a show — and the best part is if you agree or disagree, we want to know! As always, share your comments below.

You can watch General Hospital weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
