Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on General Hospital

We are used to major events during a Port Charles New Year's Eve, but this year, quiet was the name of the game and it couldn't have been more perfect. Thirty years ago on New Year's Eve, Jason tried to stop a drunk AJ from driving, which altered the Quartermaine lives forever. Three years ago, Esme jumped off the parapet and Britt "died." Two years ago, Sonny learned that Nina was the one who ratted out Drew and Carly to the SEC, but this year was so much different. This year, it looked like ABC was trying to finally bring back love in the afternoon. In a year where romances went off the rails and the network's only remaining soap seemed devoid of love, it was a New Year's Eve full of old and new romances, as well as some pretty wonderful new friendships. Jordan and Curtis are an official item again, Gio and Emma affirmed their feelings for one another, Britt and Jason shared a tender and passionate kiss, and Molly and Cody decided to have some fun right in Justine's office, which was a very not-Molly-like move. But what really struck us were the newfound friendships between Nathan and Lulu (if he is Nathan), and of course, Carly and Valentin. We are not sure where GH is headed with Carly and Valentin, but we oddly like it and can't wait to see what's to come.
