General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, July 21: Were Jason and Britt really a love story?

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on General Hospital

Jason saw Britt, or at least he smelled her at first (we think), and then saw a woman who looked just like her get on a plane to Croatia. He tried his best to get on that plane, but as expected, he was not allowed and threatened with arrest. When he got on his own plane back to Port Charles, Jason did a lot of thinking and flashing back to his (very brief) romance with Britt. However, if you were a newcomer watching those flashbacks, you'd think Jason and Britt had an epic years-long romance rather than just one summer on the run. Sure, during that summer Britt saved Jason's life when he was shot, and Jason comforted Britt when she received bad news about her health. They even slept together once. However, Britt was preparing for her first real date with Jason when he arrived at her apartment to tell her he was going to marry Carly. Britt was heartbroken. That marriage lasted literally a hot minute before Jason and Britt took off to Greece to rescue Liesl, and Jason ended up presumed dead after an explosion. We never understood why Britt mourned him for more than a year when she hardly knew him, but we do know they are going to get to know each other a lot better. Still, GH demonstrated just how brief and flimsy romance really was when it gave us every big moment they ever shared in 30 seconds worth of flashbacks. We guess the show is going with a Jason and Britt love story, and we are just along for the ride.
