General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, June 4: Liz turned down Lucky's proposal. Hooray!

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Well, Lucky did it. He popped the question, and she said nope, not this time, buddy. Everything seemed romantic and perfect as Liz finally had her cast off and was able to enjoy a romantic meal in the park. Lucky set the scene and professed his love and devotion to Liz. We were sure that General Hospital would screw up and have her jump into his arms and say yes, but our little Elizabeth is all grown up now. She is not that little girl that Lucky found after an assault in the park nearly 30 years ago. She is a nurse with three grown sons who has seen a lot and is not about to make the same mistakes she made in the past again. Liz may always love Lucky, but she knows she cannot trust him. He has lied to her, cheated on her, abused her, and left her. Liz has forgiven it all, and Lucky is not the same person he was then, but Liz has expressed for weeks that she is not sure Lucky could ever truly be there for her. Frankly, she should have dumped him immediately when she learned that he knew Kristina caused the accident that nearly killed her, but she didn't. So, thankfully, she didn't agree to marry Lucky two days later. Sometimes, a deep, true love doesn't mean that you'll be together forever, and Elizabeth knows that now.
