Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on General Hospital

We admit we weren't quite sure what to make of this "distant" Cerullo relation when he suddenly appeared at Brook Lynn and Chase's wedding a year ago next week. Why had we never heard of this kid before and why was it so important that Lois make sure he was there to see Brook Lynn get married? When it became apparent that GH planned to give Brook Lynn and Dante a retconned kid and that kid was Gio, we groaned because we'd seen this story so many times before through our decades watching soaps. To our surprise, we have found ourselves falling in love with Gio and this story. (Psst...Emma is falling in love with him, too.) Sure, a retconned kid is a typical soap trope, but when it's done right, it doesn't matter and GH is doing this story right. We are invested now and that's what counts. How badly did you just want to scream in Dante's face that Gio was his son and he should stop being so horribly mean to him? About as badly as Lois, who is still managing to keep her secret close to the vest — or so she thinks. Lulu has now caught on and is determined to prove that Gio is Dante and Brook Lynn's son. And now, there is friction between Dante and Gio that feels organic more than manufactured. That's how to do a good soap secret long-lost kid plot — and we can't wait for the fallout.
