General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, October 14: Why would Ric dream about Outback?

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

It took a few commercial breaks, but it finally became quite clear that Ric only dreamed Elizabeth found him and rescued him, but can someone explain the start of his dream? The episode began with this little fantasy featuring Outback at the exterior cellar doors, and Elizabeth finding the pooch before venturing down the steps. But why would Ric dream about a dog he never met and doesn't even know exists? We get that at the end of the show, Outback really was at the cellar doors, but it made sense because he was with Cody, but the Outback part at the top of the hour still has us scratching our heads. Sure, Outback has been shuffled around from owner to owner, but Ric was never one of them. Plus, when Outback was missing and his poster was all over town, Ric was already languishing in Alexis' basement. Why would he randomly dream that a dog he had never met was outside the basement doors, and Elizabeth of all people would wander by outside and find him? We get that Ric is pretty much delirious at this point after being tied to a gurney with a ball gag in his mouth for a month, but there was no reason for the dog to be Ric's fantasy. It made absolutely no sense and takes away from his inevitable rescue on Wednesday.
