General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, September 17: Monica's last hugs were just right

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

While our hearts had dropped into the pit of our stomachs when we saw the look on Jason's face at the end of today's General Hospital, we also knew that Monica had spent her final waking moments hugging her grandbabies, which was just the way it should have been. Anyone who saw GH's weekly promo pretty much knew what was coming today, so we spent the entire episode on the edge of our seats, fearing the wrong person would find Monica —namely, Willow. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. Brook Lynn was the one who brought Scout and Wiley upstairs to get their traditional first day of school hug from Grandma Monica. Although we did not see Monica with them, we could just picture her joy at seeing two of her grandchildren in her room. According to Tracy, Monica had been living for her grandchildren while spending most of her time in her room, ill for the last year or so. Having that full house of kids is everything Tracy wanted for her sister-in-law, and it's what she got. Tracy went as far as to kinda-sorta kidnap Wiley and Amelia earlier this year just so Monica could have them under her roof. It was only appropriate that her last smiles were with her Wiley and Scout, as Amelia is too young for school. It was also only appropriate that Jason was the one to walk upstairs to talk with his mother and find that she had passed. Bring on the Kleenex, because we are going to need them for days to come.
