Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on General Hospital
Since last fall, Trina and Kai have been a bit of a snooze, but the problem was clearly the writing and not the performers. We didn't much care about Kai's football injury or Trina and Kai's shared art project, but when Kai betrayed Trina's trust, the couple finally had some real conflict. Trina stuck to her guns and dumped Kai, a young man who finally figured out he had trusted the wrong person. Now, they are knee deep in the 'Who Shot Drew?' mess, and it's just what they needed. It's clear that Kai and Trina are going to become an integral part of this plot since they were both hiding out in Drew's bedroom and heard the gunshot. Putting them smack dab in the middle of this umbrella storyline was genius because it's now a way to inject life into a lackluster young couple who had not yet caught on with fans. Now they have conflict because of what Kai did to Trina's family, as well as a reason to stick together. They might not have reunited romantically yet, but Kai and Trina now have a secret between them they must keep, so it's only a matter of time before they are a full-fledged couple again. However, this time, they are in the middle of the hottest plot of the year, which will finally give them fascinating material to play.
