General Hospital's Jane Elliot has been having a year like no other, with the soap world clamoring for the iconic actress to submit herself for Outstanding Lead Actress for next year's Daytime Emmys. Elliot was inducted into the academy's gold circle this year, but next year, she should absolutely be taking home a golden statuette.

This week was another impeccable week for Elliot, as Tracy Angelica Quartermaine got the greatest gifts of all, a home and a family, with a few hiccups along the way.

Tracy's big surprise

As Tracy read the note Monica left her, it was as if a new world had opened up to her. Elliot allowed the character she knows so well to wear her emotions on her sleeve as everything suddenly made sense, and Tracy knew she was right. Monica had another will, and the real will would keep that house in the Quartermaine family.

Tracy was so sure Michael was getting the house that she even told him, "You're welcome," when she handed him the real will to read. Elliot displayed Tracy's confusion, disbelief, and joy all in one fluid expression when Michael (Rory Gibson) told her that Monica did not leave the house to him; she left it to Tracy.

Finally, Tracy felt vindicated, but was in for another shock when she tried to throw Ronnie (Erika Slezak) out of the house, and her family took an interloper's side once again. As the Qs walked out of the house, along with Ronnie, Tracy was left in the foyer alone with the keys, as Elliot showed us Tracy's loneliness, along with her sheer determination not to cave and apologize to Ronnie.

Leave it to General Hospital's Gio

Tracy sat herself down on the couch alone, but had no trouble brushing it off and showing Gio (Giovanni Mazza) that she just didn't care. It didn't matter that her family left her. We could see that Tracy's stiff upper lip wanted to turn to jelly, but Elliot wouldn't allow it just yet.

After a frank conversation with Gio in which Tracy was the voice of reason, Elliot let Tracy's mask come down. She admitted she needed her family and called Ronnie over the next morning. We had to laugh as Elliot played Tracy's reluctance to apologize properly with all the comic charm we have grown to love.

But our hearts soon broke with Tracy when Ronnie told her to "put a sock in it," and Tracy could only hear Monica's voice saying those same words. The look of realization on Elliot's face as Tracy finally accepted that this was indeed Monica's sister, another sister of Monica's heart.

Tracy then offered a sincere apology before welcoming her family home, proving once again that Jane Elliot is a national treasure.
