This has been quite a year for General Hospital's Willow Tait — and for Katelyn MacMullen, an actress who has taken a character she has played for seven years and turned her into someone unrecognizable. From courtroom drama to aborted wedding drama, MacMullen has given it her all in 2025. This past week, a quieter and more subtle performance had us mesmerized, earning MacMullen Soap Central.

Delicate flower Willow is back (for a moment)

MacMullen showed us all the different versions of Willow from the moment she first entered Drew's (Cameron Mathison) house with her suitcase on Tuesday. She was nervous and hesitant as she looked around at her former home, where a violent crime had taken place, but by the time Drew was on one knee proposing, a different Willow emerged.

This one seemed like she might be found out at any moment as she tried to explain to Drew all the reasons why marrying her at this moment. We watched Willow scramble, but by the next scene, she was someone new.

General Hospital's Willow morphs some more

We didn't even see Willow nervously answer Drew's question when he asked if he loved her. Instead, we saw a happy and confident Willow ask Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) to be her maid of honor at her Thanksgiving living room wedding. This Willow was the one who was sure that Drew was all she needed to live a happy life.

By Wednesday, MacMullen gave us prissy Willow, who had a hard time admitting that her mother always meant well, no matter what she did. She was argumentative with Liesl (Kathleen Gati), but also taken aback when Liesl called her a petulant child.

When Nina (Cynthia Watros) arrived, a kinder, gentler, and more vulnerable Willow arrived with her. She listened to her Aunt Liesl and finally relented, inviting Nina back into her life while also admitting that she had missed her over the last few months.

MacMullen offered the audience multiple Willows rolled up in one over a two-day period, and it's anyone's guess which one is the real Willow Tait. We can't wait to see what she does if we learn Willow does indeed have DID, which is what much of the GH fandom suspects.
