General Hospital's Elizabeth Webber finally got her groove back, giving Rebecca Herbst some real material to play for the first time in a long time. Liz has no man in her life and no kids in her life, but that doesn't mean she is not taking charge and bringing feisty back.
Elizabeth is ready to begin again on General Hospital

Over the last year, Liz (Rebecca Herbst) lost two men, but they were two men who seemed to be bringing her down. Liz had already broken up with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) because she was tired of his controlling ways, but when they reunited, he had become the complete opposite and smothered her instead. By the time she dumped him while he was in the throes of addiction, Liz was spent, but Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) appeared just a few months later.
It was Liz who finally realized it was not going to work, as she and Lucky (and General Hospital) realized you can't always recapture what you had as teenagers. With Lucky now gone, Elizabeth decided it was time to be Elizabeth again, and Herbst couldn't look happier by this choice.
Liz puts Kristina in her place

Elizabeth Webber is not a character who puts up with shenanigans without a fight. While her reaction to Lucky telling her that Kristina (Kate Mansi) caused the accident that nearly cost her and Ric (Rick Hearst) their lives was lackluster, her confrontation with Kristina was not. Herbst looked like she was enjoying every second of Elizabeth putting Kristina in her place and warning her what would happen if she pulled another stunt that put lives at risk.
Herbst gave Liz back her fire, something we have only seen come out in spurts over the last few years. It was there when Liz was helping keep Esme (Avery Pohl) hostage at Wyndemere and returned when she found a drunk Finn with a woman he picked up at a bar last year, but it's been disappointingly absent otherwise.
We loved seeing the take-charge version of Elizabeth, who doesn't mind roughing it up verbally every once in a while. Herbst's facial expressions were also on point as always. Liz was exasperated with both Kristina and Ric by the end of Wednesday's episode. We can't wait to see what Herbst does when Liz learns that Ric knows what Kristina did and has been blackmailing Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) as a result.
