What happened on General Hospital

At Laura’s mayoral office, Dante was telling Liesl he was going to hunt down every warrant with her name on it and use them to throw her in a jail cell unless, of course, she skipped town before he had the chance. Dante scoffed when Liesl asked how he would explain to Rocco that he put his grandmother, the only one with the answers he sought, in a jail cell. Lulu reminded her that she wasn’t Rocco’s grandmother.
Laura intervened and told Dante to take a walk to cool off. After Dante left, Laura told Liesl the only reason she was there today was so they could see if Liesl could put Rocco’s needs ahead of her own. Liesl argued that she had different ideas about what was best for Rocco.
Speaking to Lulu directly, Liesl said she and Rocco had already bonded, and if Lulu and Dante tried to come between them, they would make themselves enemies. Laura said that speaking to Rocco twice does not make a relationship, and they’d had years with him. In response, Liesl threw Lulu’s coma and the fact that she went looking for Charlotte in her face to try to reason that, for a myriad of reasons, Lulu hadn’t been a mother to Rocco for years.
As Laura’s anger grew, she took Liesl to task, “How dare you imply that my daughter is not a good mother!” She acknowledged that Liesl would grieve Britt for the rest of her life, but warned her to never speak to her daughter like that again and not to disrespect Rocco’s parents. Saying her compassion would only go so far, Laura told Liesl she would have to earn being a part of Rocco’s life by being a respectful, positive force who put his needs over her grief.
Dante came back to hear Laura say, “If you cannot respect the rules that his parents have created to keep him safe, you will have no place in his life. None!” Calming things back down, Laura said no one expected the meeting to be easy, but felt it shouldn’t have devolved into an ugly, nasty fight either. She said they owed it to Rocco to find some common ground. Liesl agreed and said she should not have spoken to Lulu like that. She said it was wonderful that Rocco had a family who loved him so much, and it would be fine if one of them wanted to be there the next time she talked with him.
After Liesl left, Dante, Lulu, and Laura resolved to stay focused on what Rocco needed. Lulu and Dante worried about whether they could keep a lid on their feelings about Liesl. Laura vowed to keep an eye on Liesl, whom she would be foolish to trust completely.
Looking sharp in a new suit, Cody ran into Tracy at the Metro Court pool. She was seeking solitude from the brood of children at home, and he was about to have a date. When he told her that his date was with Ava, Tracy asked what he was thinking and said Ava was a thug who had been to prison. “If she doesn’t shoot you, she’s going to blow you up in a car. Or, she’ll run you down with her car”, she warned.
Cody blurted out that he wasn’t dating Ava for love, but for the money — and admitted someone was paying him to distract her. Tracy did not approve and asked if he needed money. She wanted him to realize he was a better man than he knew. She reminded him that he was a good friend, having saved Rocco’s life, been helpful the night of the fire at Charlie’s, and saved James from drowning. “I repeat, you are a good man”, she said, “Please don’t sell yourself so cheaply.”
Cody felt there was a long list of actions that could easily disprove Tracy’s high opinion of him. She asked if he really needed the side hustle and worried he was in trouble. He confirmed he wasn’t in any trouble. Before she left, Tracy told him that she saw him for who he was now and not who he was before. She also let him know she respected him and hoped he would be able to respect himself.
Ava arrived after Tracy left, but Cody said he would have to take a raincheck. He said Hades, one of the horses, just had a minor medical procedure, and he needed to go check on him. Ava agreed to meet another time and leaned in to kiss him.
Ava met Nina at the Metro Court Restaurant bar. Nina was lamenting her bad choices with Willow, so Ava said her date could wait. She let Nina know she was done with Ric but had to take care of a few things before she let him know that. Nina was surprised when Ava said her date was with Cody, who Ava felt was uncomplicated and made her smile.
Nina wanted Ava to be careful because she thought Cody could be sloppy with his behavior, and every relationship always had its own complications. Ava assured that she and Cody weren’t in a relationship, and she just wanted to have a little fun and enjoy his company.
After Ava left for the pool, Liesl arrived from the meeting at Laura’s office. When Liesl complained about the situation with Rocco, Nina said she could see both sides. When she emphasized that Dante and Lulu were Rocco’s parents, Liesl said it wasn’t ultimately up to the parents to decide if she got to see Rocco and felt certain he would come see her again. When Nina asked what she would do, Liesl (somewhat cryptically) said she would respond in the way Britta would want.
In the lobby of the restaurant, Carly wanted to toast the beginning of the weekend, but Brennan said he had to be honest with her. Instead of saying anything about Josslyn, he said he hadn’t been honest about his assignment in Port Charles. He said the WSB opened a branch in Port Charles for one specific assignment, which was feared to have worldwide implications. He said he wanted to warn her that, at some point, he may have to disappear on her and had no idea how long he would be gone.
Surprisingly, Carly was relieved. She thought he was going to admit to having a wife and kids or something crazy personal like that. She said she trusted his judgment and admired his work to protect everyone from harm. Brennan felt he was in unfamiliar territory because he hadn’t been with someone he’d actually wanted to confide in. “You are the most amazing woman I have ever met”, he told her. She responded, “As long as you're honest with me about the things you can say, I’m not going anywhere.”
Brennan said the WSB taught him to never rely on the future, and said he was happy with whatever time he got with her. She said he sounded like a fatalist, but she was an optimist and felt they had all the time in the world.
While sitting at Haven’s Coffee Bistro, Molly was absorbed in writing her book when Alexis walked up. She wanted to talk to Molly about Drew planning to move to D.C. with Scout. Molly felt it would be strategic not to be antagonistic with Drew about wanting to move. Alexis told her about Monica planning to talk with Drew, but she still wasn’t very hopeful it would help.
Alexis asked Molly to help her research legal precedent for a grandparent to take custody of a minor. Molly didn’t think suing Drew would be the best way to go, but Alexis said there was a legal precedent in the state of New York that they could expand from. She felt there was no world in which leaving Port Charles would be in Scout’s best interest.
They made a list of Drew’s actions that could work against him in court, but Molly reminded her of the reality of the situation. She said family and custody law were based on property law. Each parent is considered to have a 50% interest in a child, and with Sam gone, Drew had a 100% interest. As bad as his transgressions were, they still wouldn’t prove to a court that he wasn’t able to provide for Scout’s needs.
Impassioned, Alexis felt Sam would not be okay with Drew’s behavior, and said she needed to fight for Scout. In the end, Molly again concluded it would only make things worse if they tried to sue for custody. Alexis said suing for custody would be a last resort, but she needed to keep it as an option. She planned to write up a petition just in case and asked Molly to help research if there was enough case law to move forward.
At the Q Mansion, Anna told Jason he needed to find Britt because she now wondered if disappearing wasn’t Britt’s choice after all. Without telling him about Josslyn, she said she had just learned from Brennan about the Five Poppies being under scrutiny by the WSB. Anna felt there was no way Britt being at the resort was a coincidence, but wasn’t sure if she was being coerced or had gone there of her own free will.
She hypothesized that, even if Faison was dead, his work lived on and Britt would be considered a valuable asset. She said Faison was always interested in weaponizable tech. They felt Britt wouldn’t want anything to do with weapons development. Jason said he was going to Dalmatia because he needed to make sure Britt was okay. He promised to protect Anna and not to tell anyone because he didn’t want her to get into trouble.
At the Five Poppies Resort, Josslyn and Vaughn (undercover newlyweds) arrived. Britt walked off with her back to Joss so they didn’t see each other. Pascal welcomed them. When he was going to show them to their room, Joss asked if it would be possible for them to receive a tour of the resort.
After Pascal left them in their room, Joss and Vaughn scanned for listening/recording bugs. Then, they reviewed the map of the resort and took note of where they had seen recording devices. Later, when it was time to go to sleep, Vaughn was reluctant to get into bed and offered to sleep on the floor. Joss told him not to be ridiculous, and it wouldn’t be a problem to share the bed.
Britt found Pascal outside to ask where her medication (which she must take every night) was. He said it was in the lab, which suggested she was going to have to work tonight. She couldn’t believe “he” expected her to work right then, but Pascal reminded her, “Your good health is reliant on his good will.” Pascal threatened, “He” was expecting results in a timely manner, or your medication may be withheld completely.” He got a call. It was Jason (alias, John Moore) calling to book a room.
